Practice project: Paper Crane at the Rain Stop
Plan an original 30-second scene: one adult gives a paper crane to another adult waiting for a bus; both look toward the newly lit stop sign. Use one location, two people and one prop, without existing anime characters. Six shots last 4, 6, 5, 5, 6 and 4 seconds.
Practical steps
- Define a silhouette, hair, collar, shoes and one identifying detail for each adult.
- Create front, side and back views plus three expressions; hold lighting and clothing colors stable. Add important lettering later in drawing software.
- Record reference filenames, model or tool version, settings and asset permissions.
- Test only two or three shots using the same pose; compare face shape, proportions and crane color before expanding production.
Deliverable and checks
Deliver character and prop sheets plus naming rules. References can help consistency, not guarantee it; redraw, crop or remake flawed details.
